Employer Information Report/EEO-1: 2018 Federal Law Changes

Faculty :

Industry :

Duration :

Course Description:

The EEOC has a number of reports they require of businesses in order to help safeguard the employees of that business. In keeping with the stated mission of the EEOC of "enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against... an employee because of the person's race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information" they require an annual report from employers who have 100 or more employees. This report provides information to the EEOC and the Department of Labor on the make-up of a company's employee population in order to help them identify and prevent potential discrimination. It is important for companies to comply with this report and often companies who have just reached the size limit are often unaware of the requirements for this report.

Why should you Attend?

Company officials are often unaware of the requirements for filing an EEO-1 report and may go too long in filing the report. There are actually multiple reports that potentially can be filed depending on the nature of the business, the number of locations and the company's status as a federal contractor. Failure to file a report is punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment.
